Esta novela fue premiada con el premio de novela negra RBA 2015 y este autor siempre será recordado con el poder del perro, novela electrizante, esta es la segunda entrega del capo Adán Barrera a quien Art Keller lleva a prisión, Keller se va a vivir de apicultor a Guatemala y su cabeza vale 2 millones de dólares sin embargo Adán en prision tiene sus contactos y se fugara de la cárcel como la vida misma, además consigue a cualquier chica que quiera como Magda y es una novela trepidante donde El Paso de las hojas frenético nos da una visión bastante realista de este mundo del narcotráfico, donde comienza nuevamente la partida de ajedrez donde Keller debe volver a poner cascabel al gato on ayuda de Marisol.
La novela se mueve frenéticamente a través de México, Sinaloa, Jalisco, Tamaulipas… y empieza a ver un pulso con el narcotráfico colombiano por dominar donde el binomio Adán – Magda es fundamental, pese al aburrimiento de esta por momentos, donde no se quiere limitar a ser la mujer de Adán. Qué decir de una boda de narcos entre los Barrera – Esparza y se necesitan infiltrados para cazar a Adán aunque sea en la familia. Nos adentra en el mundo de los Zetas, la violencia, las maquiladoras en Ciudad Juárez un duelo final de intentar adentrar la droga por Petén (Guatemala) donde el negocio del dinero es lo importante y se exige un duelo entre Art Keller y Adán Barrera…
La droga sigue saliendo de México rumbo al sudoeste de Estados Unidos. Ahora es un producto más abundante que el agua. A la máquina le faltan algunos de sus engranajes más monstruosos, pero las ruedas siguen girando. Banca, sector inmobiliario, política, armamento, muros, vallas, policías, tribunales y prisiones; el cártel sigue adelante.
Sin duda la primera parte sigue siendo la reina aunque tiene una buena secuela.
