Es una novela sobre los marineros de antaño que creían en la libertad y un mundo mejor, es una novela que habla sobre los corsos y el navío «la intrépida» a través de los mares desde Portugal a Uruguay, personajes bien definidos como Patrick Donegall más que un irlandés errante, sin embargo esperaba más de esta novela que goza de una gran publicidad pero sin duda no puede ser comparado con las excelentes novelas de Patrick O’Brian, de quien dicho sea de paso soy ferviente admirador y escritor único en el tema naval, pero es una novela interesante y que gustará a los amantes de los temas náuticos.
